The objective of the grant was the purchase of an AMS (“Accelerator Mass Spectrometer”) system. The mass spectrometer has been installed and tested. From 2011 onwards, the new equipment will enable world-class environmental analysis and pharmaceutical radiocarbon measurements that are unique in Hungary. The details of the construction are briefly summarised below.
