The aim of the project is to purchase new measuring equipment to improve the technological development in the field of radioanalytics, which will allow us to increase the service level of the laboratory. To achieve this, we also plan to improve human resources and organisational structure, and to use renewable energy to increase production stability.
Instruments to purchase:
– a liquid scintillation spectrometer with the lowest detection limit available on the market, which is the only device capable of meeting the requirements (with direct measurement) of the decree of the Ministry of Economy and Labour No. 15/2001 (VI. 6.) on “Radioactive Emissions into Air and Water and their Control during the Use of Nuclear Energy”, which is a general requirement for our main customers (Paks Nuclear Power Plant, RHK Kft.).
– the other piece of equipment we plan to purchase is a special liquid scintillation counter, which is unique on the market, in its ability to calculate and compensate for the quench effect to be taken into account during measurement. The device will be the most efficient tool for the re-qualification of radioactive waste disposed in the Püskökszilágy Radioactive Waste Repository, an essential workflow for the work processes related to the repository’s safety enhancement programme.
We also want to improve our current operating model and human resource management. The project will involve external experts to review our organisational structure and activities and optimise our operational processes. We plan to introduce a project management approach to work organisation.
We aim to meet the building’s energy needs through renewable energy development, and the installation of a new heat pump system to support our economic production processes by supporting the building’s energy needs.
